each year in the united states 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. receiving this diagnosis is very traumatic.  In 2009, author Gina L. Mulligan was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was working on a novel comprised of letters at the time.  While undergoing treatment she started receiving letters and cards filled with well wishes.  Gina had received over 200 letters, many of them from people she never met. “Letters were all around me, and I realized letters are a precious gift with the power to  heal,” says Gina.

After she won her battle with breast cancer Gina decided that she needed to do something to help women newly diagnosed with the disease. She started the charity organization, girls love Mail to encourage people to send hand written letters to women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since August 2011, girls love Mail has received over 2,000 letters from over 300 cities across the US, plus Canada, Brazil, UK, Ireland, Australia and Norway.  writing letters for girls love Mail is a great way to lift the spirits of a woman newly diagnosed with breast cancer.  You, your organization or family can write letters on your own stationary or with the free custom girls love Mail stationary.  Make sure your letter fits neatly into a 4.75” x 6.5” envelope.  then send your letters to :Girls love Mail2330 E.
