In the ‘post-Christmas limbo’ period before new Year, we took to the excellent outdoors (our preferred thing to do) as well as jumped on a train to Kew for a trip to The royal Botanical gardens there (otherwise understood as Kew Gardens). The last time we went to Kew gardens was when I was 2 months expecting with Alexander (5 years back spanning a relocation to Yorkshire then just recently to Windsor during that time) so we were thrilled about the prospect of returning to this leafy oasis just 30 minutes from London, as well as what a delight it was.
We try not to let the weather condition stop us from venturing outdoors (if we did, we’d never go anywhere) as well as in spite of the wind, it felt refreshing as well as rejuvenating to roam around the tranquil gardens, burning off the Christmas excess as well as ‘just being’ together. These really are my preferred type of days. The household as well as I, embarking on a bit day adventure, strolling as well as exploring…How we like to walk, as well as even much more so now that I have my Fitbit Christmas pressie on my wrist which spurs us all on, ‘You numerous steps have we done Mummy?’…2 minutes later: ‘Now, exactly how many?’!
We found an captivating Wintery landscape at Kew garden encompassing turf gardens, a wanting tree, waterfalls, conifers, meadows as well as much more (adorned with the chic-est of joyful decorations) with bursts of warmth discovered within the Princess of Wales Conservatory as well as the palm House, an renowned Victorian glasshouse with a Rainforest climate, which operates as a living lab supporting a diversity of plants, as well as felt like a day at a health spa (seriously).
We stumbled upon an outside Victorian fair the kids adored, as well as although we shown up far as well late to delight in whatever on offer at Kew Gardens, we’ll be back once again soon.
Thank you to Kew gardens for inviting us, it was a wonderful day.
Once Kew gardens had closed at 3pm, we stumbled upon a quaint cafe, scones winking at us in the window, as well as delighted in a slice of something good (gluten-free oat as well as cherry cake as you’re asking) before catching our train home.
Have you been to Kew Gardens? If not, you must!
